Got a research opportunity over summer. Looking at housing affordability in regional cities - comparing Toowoomba, Ballarat, and Launceston.
It's fascinating work. Everyone talks about regional living being more affordable, but when you actually dig into the data, it's way more nuanced than that. Houses might cost less, but if the local wages are proportionally lower, are people really better off?
Two months to do lit review, collect data, analyze, and write it up. It's ambitious but I'm excited. Real research, not just essays regurgitating what's already been said.
Also trying to remember this is summer break. Don't want to burn out before next semester even starts.
